To join our team of professionals, we are currently accepting applications for a full-time IT & Cybersecurity Officer to provide exceptional service to our branch staff as they serve our members. The position requires the incumbent to work flexibly amongst our branch network.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, especially in security-related tasks
  • Effective communication skills (technical + non-technical users)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively while being self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or related field. 1-2 years of relevant IT or cybersecurity experience, or a combination of education, training and/or experience

The Job

Reporting to the Information Technology Team Lead, the IT CO supports the organization’s IT infrastructure and security posture by performing duties including (but not limited to):

  • Deliver responsive technical support to end users, resolving hardware, software, network, and access issues. 
  • Support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of IT systems, including updates, patching, and backups.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining cybersecurity tools and respond to security alerts and potential threats.
  • Maintains our cybersecurity framework and contributes to vulnerability management to help strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.
  • Support compliance and risk management initiatives, including audits and adherence to security policies and standards.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness by guiding employees on best practices and safe computing habits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and continuous improvement efforts.

The Person

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, a diploma/certificate from a Post-Secondary Business Program, plus up to one year’s related experience and/or training. A combination of education and experience may be considered. The incumbent will also have/be:

  • superior customer service skills with ability to build relationships
  • very comfortable with technology and adapts easily to new digital processes, products & services
  • an outgoing and self-motivated nature, team player, with a strong work ethic
  • demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ability to work independently
  • proven history of accuracy and high attention to detail 

The Job

The Financial Services Representative:

  • proactively provides financial advice to members
  • uses technology daily to optimize work
  • processes financial transactions for members with a high level of accuracy and balances a cash drawer
  • achieves sales goals through service excellence, professionalism, strong product & service knowledge, and effective member relationship management practices

To join our team of financial services professionals, we are currently accepting applications for a full-time Administration Officer (AO) to provide exceptional service to our branch staff as they serve our members. The position is based in the Administration Office of the Credit Union, in Yarmouth. 

The Person

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • superior customer service and communication skills  

  • a team player, who works well in a team environment and can resolve problems independently

  • a multitasker who is organized, accurate and shows a high level of attention to detail

  • flexible and adaptable to change with strong time-management skills

  • a high comfort level working with and learning to effectively use new banking technology, various software platforms and applications including SharePoint and Office 365

  • Grade XII diploma plus a one to two-year business program (community college/university level). One to three years’ experience and/or training in an accounting environment - an equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered. Experience and/or a designation in payroll may be considered an asset. 

The Job

Reporting to the Director, Finance & Risk, the AO provides an elevated level of professional service and support to credit union staff. 

Duties include (but not limited to):

  • assists in the preparation of the annual capital and operating budgets for the credit union  

  • produces annual audit reports for the finance department, external auditors, regulatory auditors  

  • prepares, posts, and maintains various schedules including CRA (HST, Corporate Tax, etc), Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and balances to GL control account  

  • administers payroll and benefits program for all staff of the Credit Union  

  • maintains a high level of expertise in all products & services; develops, updates, and communicates internal procedures, and proactively provides training and ongoing support to staff

  • investigating and resolving problems/discrepancies in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements
